2011 has been a great year for slot car sets with the manufacturers now concentration both innovation and value for money rather than how cheaply they could make them. As they have moved to improving the quality of the tracks it has also seen slot car racing moving forward in popularity as a Christmas gift and other special occasions.
Choosing the best slot car sets for under $100 in 2011 has proved difficult. For all the right reasons, the competition has been tough.
In deciding on the best slot cars for sale under $100 we looked at the cars, length of track, the features of the track (did it have a loop the loop, corkscrew turns etc), How many reviews did it have? What was the overall rating for those reviews? How much did it cost and what did you get for it?
It was the fun factor and value for money that were seen as most important in our rankings.  Many may disagree but we think that any of the sets that made our top 5 would make a great starter set for a beginner and at an affordable price.
Although these slot car sets could be seen as just for kids, they also enjoyed by adults too and make a fun hobby.
